Thai Binh's competitiveness index in 2019 increased by 4 ranks compared to 2018

According to the PCI rankings in 2019, Quang Ninh continued to be the leading province in the country, followed by the provinces and cities: Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Bac Ninh, Da Nang, Quang Nam ... PCI of Thai Binh province ranked well, ranked 28/63 provinces and cities with 65.38 points, up 4 ranks and 2.15 points compared to PCI in 2018. Also according to VCCI, Thai Binh was one of 10 provinces and cities with the average score of the original PCI increased fastest in the country, demonstrating the determination of the provincial authorities in directing the improvement of business investment environment.


PCI is an indicator of the assessment and ranking of the quality of economic administration and building a favorable business environment for the development of private enterprises by provincial governments. The PCI index is built on 10 component indicators including: Market entry; access to land; transparency; cost of time; informal charges; dynamism of provincial governments; fair competition; business support services; labor training; legal institutions and security and order. PCI is considered as a "voice gathering" of the business community on the quality of operation and business environment of provinces and cities. PCI is gradually becoming an information channel to help domestic and foreign businesses consult about investment locations

The 2019 PCI report also analyzed the trend of automation and digitalization in goods production, service provision of Vietnamese businesses, forecasted the effects of this trend on labor and employment in the next time. These were useful information to help provinces and cities actively adapt to continue improving the provincial competitiveness index and help the business community to develop sustainably in the future.
