Situation of agricultural production in the whole province in April 2020

According to the report of agriculture sector, by April 16, 2020, the total area of planted spring crops was 14,580 ha, reaching 97.2% of the plan; the area of harvested spring crops was 9,190 ha, accounting for 63.03% of the total area of planted spring crops. Productivity and value of vegetables were high. The area of summer planted vegetables was 1,400ha, reaching 12.7% of the plan.

In addition, the spring rice grew, developed well and evenly in all varieties, and it was expected that the area of flowering rice in April reached about 6,500ha, the flowering period was from May 5, 2020 to 5/20/2020.

The situation of animal husbandry, market prices and breeds did not fluctuate much compared to the same period. The total number of pigs was estimated at 785,100 heads, decreasing by 0.55%; poultry was estimated at 14.2 million, increasing by 1.3%; cattle and buffaloes were estimated at 56,100, a slight increase in comparison with the same period. The provinces completed the vaccination plan for the spring-summer 2020 disease, and continue to carry out additional vaccinations for poultry. The total number of vaccines received by districts and cities from the Department of Livestock Production and Veterinary Medicine was 395,990 doses.

The total output of aquaculture in the month was estimated at 13,810 tons, of which aquaculture of salt water was 9,280 tons; aquaculture of brackish water 630 tons; aquaculture of fresh water was 3,900 tons. The number of produced aquatic breeds reached 71.057 million. Total fishing production was estimated at 8,306 tons, including 7,951 tons of saltwater exploitation and 355 tons of freshwater exploitation.

Regarding the construction of new countryside, up to now, the whole province, 100% of communes have reached the new rural standard; 7/7 districts have been recognized by the Prime Minister as national standards of new rural areas, Thai Binh city has completed the task of building new rural areas in 2019; Implemented the policy of granting cement to support public construction investment process of new rural infrastructure, the total amount of cement granted to localities from January 1, 2020 to March 30, 2020 was 6,390.5 tons.
